Thomas Tapken
Thomas is a hospitality professional with a huge passion for sports. The German national’s 40-year career has taken him across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, rising through the ranks to Vice President for an international hotel chain, to more recently, Managing Director of Sport Resort in Thailand.
Living all these years in foreign countries, but mostly in Thailand, gave Thomas an appreciation for different cultures. Thomas’ passion for sport, (running, cycling and triathlon) led to him organizing the very successful AMARI Midnight Run and the popular Thailand Temple Run.
A former marathon runner and now an active cyclist, Thomas is known for launching and marketing, as well as, participating in triathlons, marathons, sports training camps, cycling and adventure races. He’s partnered with GAA Events to bring GFNY to Thailand as he believes sport brings people together. Thomas’ dream is to create events where you can experience race organization at a five-star level, but are accessible to everyone.
Taking up the license for GFNY-Thailand came naturally to Thomas as this world-class brand shares his values of commitment and passion to provide professional international races.
