Thomas is a hospitality professional with a huge passion for sports. The German national’s 40-year career has taken him across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, rising through the ranks to Vice President for an international hotel chain, to more recently, Managing Director of Sport Resort in Thailand.
Living all these years in foreign countries, but mostly in Thailand, gave Thomas an appreciation for different cultures. Thomas’ passion for sport, (running, cycling and triathlon) led to him organizing the very successful AMARI Midnight Run and the popular Thailand Temple Run.
A former marathon runner and now an active cyclist, Thomas is known for launching and marketing, as well as, participating in triathlons, marathons, sports training camps, cycling and adventure races. He’s partnered with GAA Events to bring GFNY to Thailand as he believes sport brings people together. Thomas’ dream is to create events where you can experience race organization at a five-star level, but are accessible to everyone.
Taking up the license for GFNY-Thailand came naturally to Thomas as this world-class brand shares his values of commitment and passion to provide professional international races.
Originally from Austria, Raimund, our GFNY-Thailand Event Director, has lived in Thailand for over 30 years. Back in 2003, he first introduced professional Chip Timing to mass sports
events in the region, and he naturally progressed to organising sport events, as a co-founder of GAA Events. GAA’s clients, past and present, include the Laguna Phuket Triathlon, Ironman, Challenge, Northface 100K, Laguna Phuket Marathon, and several more local races.
Together with his dedicated and experienced event team at GAA, Raimund, a very effective, quiet achiever, is determined to deliver his very best to ensure the inaugural GFNY-Krabi is a total success story.
Our senior Assistant Managing Director, liked by everyone, Charlie is known for always keeping his cool, and going above and beyond the call of duty. He is unflappable, unstoppable and has been a dedicated member of the GAA Events management team for 16 years. Charlie will help you with anything related to overall operation from ground arrangements to VIP hospitality.
Charlie grew up in the Thai countryside and settled in Bangkok 24 years ago when he discovered his life direction centred around the tourism business. He got the opportunity to join a new road race timing system company part time and gradually worked his way up from chip collector to management level at GAA.
Charlie believes every day you live and learn, working as an event organizer, so healthy self-esteem and an easy-going nature are critical to maintaining longevity in this crazy industry.
Having worked alongside the Go Adventure Asia team for many years promoting the Laguna Phuket Triathlon and Phuket Marathon, it seemed only natural that Deb would bring her marketing magic to GFNY-Thailand.
Deb joined the team to combine her passion for social media and sports marketing with her two decades of international marketing and management experience organising large scale tourism events in Thailand.
When she’s not at her keyboard, Deb loves travelling, hiking, biking and generally enjoys being active in the great outdoors.
